Aveyond
Probably everyone in Drake knows this, but I play computer games ALL THE TIME. But not Counter Strike or Starcraft that kind of games la. I can't play games like Starcraft. This is what happens when I play Starcraft: start building things, buildings must be arranged neatly and in rows, otherwise tear down and rebuild. Create army. Army usually consists of my favorite characters (in Warcraft this was the ranger elves), ability of character sometimes considered. Send army to enemy base. Whole army will attack ONE thing at a time until (a) that thing dies or (b) whole army gets wiped out. Retreat if losing is not an option. If enemy attacks my base without warning, panic. I run out of money pretty fast cause I can't micromanage.
Which is why I love playing RPG games! No need strategy, hah! It's so fun to walk around fulfilling quests, especially if the quests need you to think a bit. Of course if think too much then it's very frustrating too, like Monkey Island. But once you figure out how to solve the puzzle, makes you feel like a genius. :D It's kind of hard to find cute RPG games now, but I found a few this holiday.
Introducing...... my favorite game this holiday...... AVEYOND!!
This game is soooooooooo cute!! And it has a very good storyline too, if you don't believe me, check out the awards this game has won. The story gets non-linear pretty quickly so you have to do a lot of exploring. I like it better this way because it's not just a visit-city-A-then-forest-B-then-island-C kind of adventure. More like pick whichever one and good luck to you.
And the game has so so so so so many quests. Very interesting and funny quests too. The quests overlap ALOT. Meaning you might need to solve quest B and C to finish quest A, but then you need to trigger quest D and get an item related to quest E to solve B, bla bla bla. Can get very complicated. Plus even if you have visited a village and talked to a certain person before without anything happening, once you get further into the game you might talk to the same person again and suddenly he has a quest for you. Get the point of the game being complicated yet?
The game is in 2D so graphics are nothing to shout about. Actually I prefer it this way because my computer's graphics card is terrible. And the game looks very cute. I think no guy will want to play this game anymore after I keep stressing that it's cute. But it's very worth playing. Kept my mind sharp (hehe) during this holiday. And something to occupy me since I can't play Diablo II at Drake. *sob* Need to find more games like this!
